Episode 310: the days pass slowly but the years fly by
may every game we play land on a double word and triple letter score; every step we make be a hop-skip-and-boogey-woogey combined in one; every word we whisper speak volumes of love.
to a fabulous new year!
Episode 309: love is a game of numbers, baby
so the person i copied most of my physics and a-math homework from got married today! SQUEE!
interestingly, for her church wedding, i sat with a sec sch, jc and uni friend. so cool. i was so excited that she was getting married that just prior to her walking down the aisle, i could not help but make a small squeal to P that ‘OHYAYEUNICEISGETTINGMARRIED!’
her church service was ALL about math.
2 better than 1; 2 become 1 (spice grrrrrrrrrrrrls); 2 become 3 (ecclesiates and its threesome-advocacy)
and then came the vows.
<blahblahblah> i will multiply your joy, divide your sorrows and integrate our lives.
at this point, two people in the whole congregation laughed out loud. me and M beside me. SO PAISEH BUT SO FUNNEH. such a differentiated vow. heehee.
and then came the ring exchange shindig.
<blahblahblah> a ring is an endless circle.
and then came the wedding tribute video thing.
<music> 525600 minutes…
sigh, these math teachers….

the dinner was even funner. one of the better and more entertaining conversations i’ve had in yonks.
and her mother! the one who always say i teach her daughter wrong things like reading comics instead of studying ! she was so happy too! when she saw me in the toilet in the morning she gave me a big hug. and at night as well. i guess i didn’t teach so many wrong things. yay i love her too!

ah, love.
Episode 308: advent(ure)
An advent is the coming into being/coming into place of something.
after musing about it for a long time, i’ve finally signed up to be a sunday school teacher on 30nov! WOOHOO I AM SO STOKED ABOUT IT!!! bigshinygrins! i never had the guts to go for a meeting since most of the teachers are like uh older than my mum. but! C persuaded me to go with her on sunday (and introduced me as ‘my toddler and kindergarten best friend’ to others. haha! i am so glad she returned to cor after 17 years) AND NEXT YEAR I’LL BE PRANCING WITH THOSE PRI2s YOZ! ok maybe not prancing since i would be their only teacher…but still! *GRINS*
tres exciting! Psalms 127 says ‘”Sons are a heritage from the LORD, children a reward from him’. Ok that was in the context of God giving kiddeios to people. but, i think it is such a privilege to teach their ‘rewards’! (: YAY! i can imagine doing hand paintings, and mobiles and a squigillion arts and crafts! YAY! just thinking about it makes me have a silly grin already *heart bursts with happiness*
the advent of an adventure! YAY!

The Advent also marks 4 sundays before Christmas, which incidentally this year was 30nov too. And that was the (ad)venture of all history because the Son was given. Jesus, the son of God, came to be born as man and live the perfect life. He died on the cross for our sins, things that separate us from a perfect God, even though he didn’t need to. And because we know that when Jesus died for us he bore all our sins for us, we do not face death in fear. God who is both a righteous judge and loving father, forgave our sins and when we die, we know we do not go to hell (or disappear or return again), but we go to heaven, the perfect place/space, forever.
may the actual meaning of Christmas be increasingly real in a world that has lost its sense of justice, its sense of hope, its sense of mercy.
Or as my all time favourite carol (as sung by mr vocal-hotness) puts it:
Chains shall he break for the slave is our brother,
and in his name all oppression shall cease.
Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we;
Let all within us praise his holy name.
Christ is the lord, that ever, ever praise we.
Noel! Noel! Oh night;oh night divine!
Noel! Noel! Oh night; oh night divine!
Noel! Noel! Oh night; oh night divine!
2000 years ago, the Advent’s adventure is still present, calling you to return to His love.
